In July 2023, Dorset Spotlight became a Community Interest Company. Through the sales of adverts in our magazine our ‘Not for Profit’ aims to give back to Dorset athletes who are competing for England or Team GB, or who are on the pathway to compete at that level.

This pressure can have a negative effect on their mental health and their overall performance.

Unfortunately, many talented athletes do not get the opportunity to compete for their country as they cannot afford it. In adulthood, this can lead to a decision having to be made – whether to continue with their sport, or work. Thankfully, for viewers of sport, many athletes navigate doing both, showing a real commitment to their sport.  

Dorset Spotlight CIC is in the process of setting up a grant application process, which will come into effect in the near future.
